What is a Holistic Approach?
Holistic education is a philosophy of education based on the premise that each person finds identity, meaning, and purpose in life through connections to the community, to the natural world, and to humanitarian values such as compassion and peace. A holistic education allows us to tune in each student's unique needs and skills, and will better prepare the student to become a well-rounded adult.

Our History
Originally opened in January 2005 as a private program and expanding as a charter school in 2008, Lighthouse Academy's initial student body totaled 17 when the doors first opened in 2005.
Since then, Lighthouse Academy has grown from a one-room school to nine different campuses, educating over 1,200 students each year across five West Michigan Counties.
Lighthouse Academy graduates receive a full Michigan diploma and go on to enroll in college, the military, and/or obtain jobs in the workforce.
